Threads Ads Are Now Live – Here’s What Marketers Need to Know

Exploring new channels = new opportunities. And getting in early means you can learn fast and scale smart before your competition catches up.

As of today, Meta has officially begun rolling out ads on Threads globally. If you’re running Advantage+ campaigns or using Manual Placements, you’re already opted in by default. No need to reinvent your creative wheel – Threads lets you scale effortlessly with existing assets.

Why it matters now

Threads isn’t just another app – it’s growing fast, with over 320 million monthly active users. And it’s not just passive scrolling: 75% of users follow at least one business, creating a receptive environment for brand messaging from day one.

This new placement offers a unique chance to meet your audience in a less saturated space—and with minimal lift. Ads appear in the main feed, nestled between organic posts, and support performance-driven objectives like Reach, Traffic, and Website Conversions.

What marketers should know

  • Automatic opt-in: If you haven’t made manual changes, your ads may already be running on Threads.
  • Brand safety: Meta is applying the same inventory filters and safety tools used on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Low ad volume (for now): To maintain a good user experience, ad frequency will stay limited during the initial rollout. Delivery reporting is available in Ads Manager.
  • No new creative needed: Existing assets are eligible, so you can test quickly and without additional production time.

Our take: Keep Threads turned on.

For most brands, a full Threads strategy isn’t necessary yet—but that doesn’t mean you should sit it out. Think of it as a testing ground: a chance to gather early performance data, experiment with creative, and gauge audience sentiment.

With a lower barrier to entry and a high-potential audience, Threads gives brands a rare opportunity to show up early, learn fast, and optimize before competition heats up.

In short: it’s live, it’s low-lift, and it’s worth watching.
